Make your own scented 100% soy candles with clean burning scents. Choose color, scent and container.  Then sit and embellish your container with paint markers or glass paints.  Fee includes supplies for two candles.

Learn the Japanese tradition of tie-dye! Explore different methods to create exciting results.  We use traditional indigo dye and flour sack cloth to create the best kitchen towels you will ever use.  Fee includes supplies to make a set of four dish clothes.

Slow Stitch

Slow Stitch

Slow Stitch is a free-form, meditative method of sewing that uses scraps of fabric and colored thread to collage. This project focuses on the practice vs. the product, to help relieve stress and encourage creativity.  Participants are encouraged to bring in meaningful pieces of cloth to include in their project. The practice of Sashiko will be introduced. Fee includes fabrics and sewing materials.

Slow Stitch

Learn the practice of phenology-the study and observation of biological cycles. You will learn how to chronicle the days of the month on a single page, noting the cycles of the moon, the weather, and your visual observations. Beth Mathews will share her method with us, as well as best practices. A variety of materials will be provided to construct and embellish your chronicle. Winnie will be on hand to provide materials as well as drawing tips and tricks.

Macrame is not just for the 70’s anymore! Learn basic knot tying techniques and translate this skill into a plant-hanger or wall hanging.  Beads can also be introduced.  Fee includes supplies to make a plant holder.

Felting often happens when you don’t want it to-when you wash a wool sweater! This method uses special needles to weave colored fleece onto a felt base.  This gratifying process can almost look like a painting!  Fee includes all supplies to make a two or three dimensional design, depending on workshop.

This is a quick way to learn the basics of working with pottery.  The pinch method will be introduced along with all important rules and considerations.  Then the spherical form can become anything you like.  Possibilities are endless!  Fee includes materials and firing.  This workshop will be two Saturdays to allow for drying and glazing.
